After moving out of my dorm almost two weeks ago, I have finally settled into more of a routine with work, summer classes, this blog, and working out. I went back and forth between whether or not I wanted this post to be a plans or goals post, so we will just look at it as a little bit of both. I am the kind the person that loves having a plan and goals set, so I’m excited for what this summer has in store. I definitely have a busy, full summer ahead of me.

I officially started posting this week, so it’s safe to say that I am very new to this whole blogging thing. My goals for this summer are to build my readership and content on this blog, work on my social media presence and following, and to post at least three times a week. I already have a lot of fun posts planned for this summer, so hopefully I can stay on top of it.
I have always had some form of working out woven into my daily routine and this summer I was excited to come home and join a local gym. While I don’t have specific fitness goals, I just want to stay active and get moving. I typically like to attend fitness classes at the gym, but I’ve very recently started adding weight lifting and running to my routine. While it can be challenging, I’ve loved the results and progress I’ve made in such a short amount of time.
Photography has been one of my favorite hobbies since I can remember, but since going to college my camera has sadly been put to the side. This summer I hope to start picking it back up more and doing some fun shoots for this blog and members of my family. My brother will be a senior in high school this year and I’m hoping to find some time in both of our busy schedules to do a senior session with him.
A major goal that I set for myself several years before I went to college was to not have to work my freshman year. While I was able to meet that goal, I have no choice but to get back to work this summer especially with my plans to hopefully travel abroad this winter. I’m actually excited to get back to work at the local grocery store this summer, just pray that I survive the week before the Fourth of July.
Friends and Family
While I love my friends from college, I’ve definitely missed my friends from home. I only made it home four times during the school year, so many of them have made it clear to me we have to make up for that this summer. I’m excited for the pool days, movie nights, mall trips, and lunch dates to come. I also have lots of fun things planned with my family, including Saturday nights at our favorite restaurant and trips to Trader Joe’s with my mom.
What are your plans for the summer? Are you traveling anywhere fun or have summer classes you will be taking? I would love to hear about it in the comments below!
