While I would never consider myself to be a beauty blogger, I love make-up. From my junior high days of using eye shadow to cover eyeliner mishaps to sophomore year of high school when I stumbled upon beauty videos on YouTube, I have been on a mission to find the products that I love. While I definitely have invested in the products in my make-up drawer, I like to keep my collection to a minimum and only own what I love and will use. I decided it might be fun to compile a list of my staple make-up must haves.
Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation: While I love having a full make-up look, my biggest pet peeve is being able to feel the make-up on my face. That being said, I also want at least a medium cover foundation, which is hard to come by in a light weight formula. That’s where this foundation comes into play. Not only can I not feel it, but it has awesome coverage. I have difficulties with redness on my nose, cheeks, and forehead and this is one of the only foundations that I don’t typically also have to wear a concealer with to cover redness.
Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer: Darkness under my eyes has recently become a problem after becoming a full-time college student. I love that this concealer doesn’t crease under my eyes and that it’s a brightening concealer so it reverses darkness.
Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil Bronzer: I used to stray away from bronzers because they oxidized on my face and made me look orange, so when the lady at Sephora recommended that I try this I was a little skeptical until I tested it out. I have pretty full days and by the end of the day when I go to take my make-up off, I don’t look orange at all. And it smells like chocolate. Anything that smells like chocolate has to be good.
Anastasia Tinted Brow Gels: This is essentially mascara for your eye brows. It has a brush applicator just like mascara that you swipe across your brows until you get the brow look you are going for. I’ve had better luck using this than I have using a brow pencil and I’ve gotten a ton of compliments about how good my eye brows look, which I definitely appreciate because my brows are naturally very light blond.
MAC Plum Foolery Blush: I have loved every MAC product that I’ve tried but I was never willing to pay the price to buy them. I finally decided that I was going to bite the bullet and invest in a blush from the MAC line and I’m so glad I did. If I haven’t mentioned it before, I’m very pale, so I definitely need something that will bring color to face. With other blushes I’ve used, I’ve built the color up and by the end of the day you wouldn’t have known I even put any blush on. With this blush, I’m able to build it to the color I want and it stays all day.
Maybelline the Rocket Mascara: While yes, I have a lot of high-end favorites, after finding this I simply can’t bring myself to spend $25 on some of the high-end options. I love the brush and how full it makes my lashes and the fact that the formula stays nice after several weeks of use is a great bonus.
Urban Decay Naked 2 Eye Palette: We all know that is the cult favorite of neutral eye shadow pallets and there is definitely a reason for that. Not only are there twelve different shadows, but they are all wonderfully pigmented and stay all day. My go-to shadows for my everyday look are Suspect, Snakebite, Blackout, and Foxy.
Stila Stay All Day Liquid Eye Liner: I was never picky about my liquid eyeliners until I tried this product. I love how exact and perfect you can make the line and that it truly lives up to its name “stay all day”. Before I stumbled upon this product I had been having issues with my eye liner starting to come off or smearing throughout the day. Not this stuff!
Revlon Lip Butters: I am definitely a girly girl and love adding color to my lips, but sometimes lip glosses are just too sticky and lipsticks are too waxy. Revlon Lip Butters have found the perfect in between and it comes in lots of awesome shades. Three of my favorites are Raspberry Pie, Berry Smoothie, and Sugar Plum.
What are your staple make-up essentials? Have you tried any of the products I mentioned? Any recommendations for products I need to try?
**Side note: Sorry that I have been MIA lately. I’ve had some pretty tricky computer problems that involved having to get a whole new laptop, so hopefully now I’m good to go to start cranking out posts again!**
