A New Year and What’s to Come on Love Megan June

While I’m not a big fan of the whole “new year, new me” attitude that comes along with the New Year, I am a big fan of reevaluating your goals. No matter what day, month, or time, it’s never too late to start something new. I guess it’s just a mental thing for me that when the new year comes along, it means it’s time to really set my goals. And if we are being honest, I’m not in school during the New Year so I actually have plenty of time to plan things out.

With reevaluating my goals I set some blog goals as well. While I won’t be sharing those goals today, I will be sharing what changes and new posts series I hope to publish throughout the year. For me, 2017 means that I will be participating in the Disney College Program, pursuing an internship, (hopefully) participating in an internship, and even starting the beginning of my senior year of college. When I started this blog, I knew that I wanted to incorporate whatever phase of life I was in into my site, which is exactly what I’m hoping to do this year. And with that, here are some of the things that you can expect to see on Love Megan June in 2017.

Love Megan June

Disney College Program Series

Since I’m participating in the Disney College Program (DCP) in the Spring of this year, it’s definitely something that will be incorporated into my blog. I already have a huge running list of ideas for this series including posts on everything from the application process, potential phone interview questions, tips for the phone interview, my DCP bucket list, finding roommates, and even posting about my favorite online Disney shops and YouTube channel. I’m even hoping to do individual posts featuring my roommates in either an interview or having them give tips about their roles for people interested in those.

#GirlBoss Series

While this name is tentative, I am hoping to start writing posts geared towards women preparing to enter, just entering, or in the work force for a few years. I’ve had to come to the fairly harsh realization that I won’t be a college student forever and that I should probably start working on expanding my brand. This series will hopefully work with that. I’m hoping to talk about productivity, planning, interviewing, and more so far. I don’t have as big of an ideas list for this series, so if you have any ideas let me know down below.

I’ve also tossed around the idea of potentially writing a series more geared towards managing your side hustle, which also goes along with being a girl boss. I’m probably going to end up making it one big series, but let me know in the comments if you think I should make side hustle more of a separate series or incorporate it. Maybe I’ve just been thinking into this too much…

Behind the Blog Series

It’s no question that blogging has become something I love. In fact, I’ve even begun bringing in a bit of an income because of it. This year I’m hoping to write about how to start a blog, how to grow a readership, using social media to expand your brand, why you need an editorial calendar, and more.

The College Girl’s Guide

Of course, one of my very favorite series to write will continue in 2017. I have all kinds of exciting ideas running through my head for this series and I can’t wait to share them with you all. I’m hoping to cover getting organized for the semester, how to recover from a bad GPA/grade, time management, how to deal with test anxiety, why you should be involved on campus, and how to recover from the mid-semester slump.

Internship Series

In conjunction with the fact that I will *hopefully* have an internship over the summer, I’m hoping to share tips for finding internships, applying for internships, networking, interview tips, what to wear for interviews, what I learned from having an internship, and more. Since I haven’t actually had the internship yet I don’t know exactly what I hope to cover about having an internship, but I’m pretty excited to get writing on my current ideas.

Beauty and Fashion Blogging

While this is something that I’m not going to be incorporating until mid-year, I really want to dip my toes into the fashion and beauty blogging world. While I will never be a full fledged fashion blogger, I am a lover of all things fashion and beauty and hope to be able to share that with all of you. Plus, I love trying new things and that will definitely be something new for me to try. Just smile and nod when I attempt a style post for the first time and look super awkward. Oops.

If you have a blog, what are you planning to post about during 2017? If you don’t have a blog, what are you most excited to read about on Love Megan June? I can’t wait to read your thoughts in the comments below!
